Indie Game Bash is a celebration of independent couch multiplayer video games. The kind of games that you scream and shout over... sitting huddled around a TV with your friends!
There will be four different indie games available to play, a cocktail bar by Sugar Water, and food provided by the Bun Boys food truck. The Calgary Game Developers will also be on-site with a handful of locally-made indie games set up for you to try out all day.
We're also borrowing three arcade cabinets from the CuffCade to help bring back the nostalgia. It's an old format but these are new games!
So leave your friend lists and headsets behind for a day and come enjoy some indie games! But be prepared to nurse a bruise the next day from being punched in the shoulder during a heated round of these fast paced action games!
Samurai Gunn is a lightning-fast Bushido brawler for two to four players. Each samurai is armed with a sword and gun, with only 3 bullets to a life. Discipline and quick reflexes are the key to deflecting bullets and sending your opponents’ heads rolling.
Lethal League is a competitive projectile fighting game where you have to hit an anti-gravity ball into the face of your opponent to win. The ball speeds up with every strike, up to explosively extreme velocities. Up to four players.
TowerFall is an archery combat platformer for up to four players. It's a local party game centering around hilarious, intense versus matches. The core mechanics are simple and accessible, but combat is fast and fierce.
The Sunalta Community Centre (1627 10th Ave. S.W.) in Calgary, Alberta is just west of downtown. It's located across the street from the the Sunalta C-Train station on the West LRT line. There is a small lot next to the building that is available for parking as well as street parking (2 hour limit).
Back in mid-April the Calgary Underground Film Festival created the CuffCade. They had 5 arcade cabinets commissioned to showcase Western Canadian independent video games while the film festival was running. We're happy to announce that we'll be getting three of these cabinets for you to play at the Indie Game Bash.
There will be four stations setup inside the venue, one for each featured game above. For the majority of the day all the games are open to be played. At approximately 1PM, we will begin asking players that have been performing well through out the day to enter a top 8 tournament for one (or more) of the four featured games. The prize for any given game will be bragging rights and a printed plaque of the tournament they just won.
